Picking out your puppy – Every breeder works a little different and Fortunately we do not run like a pet store where countless people handle our puppies. When dealing with a small breed, you must be extra careful in outside elements that people can bring into our home and we must be considerate of our whelping females and current puppies. Keeping our puppies healthy and safe is our utmost importance. For this reason, we do not allow visitations until our puppies are around 9 plus weeks of age (minimum), and only after the puppies first round of shots are administered. Most all of our puppies do sell however before the puppies 9 week mark. Our clients choose their puppies from photos we provide. I know this is sometimes difficult in not being able to “choose” the puppy and hold them, etc. but we can say we breed for outstanding temperaments and our offspring exhibit these characteristic.
Deposits – A $300 deposit (goes towards the purchase price of the puppy) is required to hold the puppy you are interested in. The fastest way to secure a deposit is using Zelle or if you prefer, a check can be mailed to us directly. Deposits are non-refundable.
Are Deposits transferable? – In some instances, a new puppy may come up that we list on our website that you are more interested in then the original puppy you put a deposit down on. We understand this and try to be accommodating. If you do see a puppy that you prefer, as long as it is no less then 1 month from when your “original” puppy is to go home, you may transfer your deposit. Otherwise, your deposit would be non-refundable and non-transferable.
Payments - Once a deposit is made, a reserve is put on your puppy. The remaining balance is to be paid in full (cash, money order) on pick up day. We do not accept credit cards or check at this time. If we are shipping your puppy and using our puppy nanny service, the remaining balance of the puppy, plus the cost of the puppy nanny service, must be paid in full 2 weeks prior, before flight arrangements can be made.
Once deposit is made - a confirmation pack including a receipt, Vet Verification Form and contract is mailed out to you. We will also send you important links for your to read to prepare you for your pups arrival.
Pictures and Videos – Everyone is so excited when a new litter is born. We totally understand that. However, it is not always in the best interest of the puppies (or mom) to start moving pups around and taking them from mom to get photos when pups are first born. Some moms do not mind at all if we handle their newborn pups. Other moms are very sensitive and in some instances, a mom can turn on their own pup, if handled too much, or if they feel threatened. With this being said, it is our discretion when we feel newborn photos can/will be taken. We try to get photos out about every 3 weeks. We also take videos the week puppies can go home.
Our Guarantee – Our puppies come with a 1 year (from puppies date of birth) written health guarantee against any major defects such as heart, lung, kidney and other life threatening congenital defects. You will receive our full contract that clearly states our conditions and guarantee and other important information outlined in our contract once a deposit is made. You are required to sign and date the contract, make a copy for your records, and return it to us for our guarantee to be valid. We must have a signed and dated contract in our files at Maltipoos and More within a few days of taking possession of your puppy, or prior, or our contract is null and void. It is the responsibility of the buyer to provide us with a signed and dated contract.
Our 72 hour policy – Within 72 hours of bringing your new puppy home, you are required to bring your puppy to a licensed veterinarian. This will assure you are getting a happy and healthy puppy and address any questions you have immediately.
Visitations – We don't allow visitation until the puppies are at least 9 plus weeks of age AND at least one round of vaccinations must be administered. Puppies are very small in the beginning, and not fully immunized until 16 weeks, and we never want to jeopardize their health and safety at this young age. We are also practicing SAFE visitation and pick up where no one will be allowed in our home and can view the puppy in our porch area only, and with a mask and gloves on. At this time, no children under age 12 will be allowed.
What does puppy come with? - We provide our buyers full vaccination records, toys and food.
Scheduling when puppies can go home – Our puppies can go home at a minimum of 8 – 14 weeks. And our buyers must be flexible in this area. Around 7 weeks we can get a pretty good idea of when your puppy may be able to go home according to if your puppy has reached their growth milestone. Keep in mind, it is the full discretion of when Maltipoos and More feels our puppies are ready to go.
We do NOT look only at the birth date of our puppies. So in other words, if your puppy is 8 weeks old, but does not meet the growth criteria, your puppy would not be ready to go home. A lot of consideration goes in to our decision of when puppies can go and our puppies must reach certain milestones. These include: are they fully weened from mom?, are they eating successfully on their own?, are they of recommended weight of 2.5 -3 lb. range?, are they emotional ready and independent to be separated from their litter mates? We realize everyone is very excited and anxious to get their new puppies home, but the worst thing we want to do is send a puppy home that is not ready.
IMPORTANT: No exceptions or promises will be made of a specific pick up date! The puppies well being is the first and foremost important thing. Your patience and understanding is appreciated and our buyers must be flexible. If you are trying to work around dates of vacations, commitments, etc. then possible the timing for you to be getting a puppy is not ideal, and consideration of a different time may be in order.
